Don't want to work !!!
Today was the first day back at work after my super, duper long leave since 20 Dec.
I really don't feel like waking up to go to work so that I can clear the Himalayas mountain of documents on my desk. But then again, I still have to if I wanna keep my job and get paid. Sigh
Even now that I am at work, I'm worried about my doggie. Sometimes, I will have the illusion of something happening so I'll call home to check, to find out that nothing has happened. Another two more hours till I can actually pop by the shop and check if everything's alright. Yea.....
Then after I can go home and do the most important thing I have to do now.....
Play with my 'little princess' and beloved and dote on her. : ]

Botak girl
My heart ache just escalated. I brought my darling doggie to the groomers just now.
She was whimpering and screaming in pain when they got out the ticks on her, the old 'monkey' way (picking the ticks off using a tweezers). I really could not bear to see or hear it so I left to de-tick my room and house.
My parents and aunt has previously helped in de-ticking her usual places she sleep and hang out by cleaning with trusty 'Dettol' and spray with the tick removal dog spray I got from the pet store. I threw everything away, including her favorite toys since the groomers said that the ticks might have infested her sleep area.
Her whole face, including the corners of her eye was like red, sore and bleeding. I nearly cried looking at her. She had to have all her fur shaven till she was 'botak'. It's not like she looks ugly or anything. It's just that it hurts me to see her like that because of me. : (
In fact my parents like her 'botak', claiming she looks cuter and looks like a small little lamb. I have been instructing everyone not to tease her for her shaven fur in fear that she might not feed because she thinks she looks ugly. So the whole of tonight, I have been saying she looks pretty since she is kinda vain and look at herself in the mirror when I'm taking out my clothes from the wardrobe.
I just hope the tick infestation is gone or I will take drastic measures which will inconvenience everyone. My drastic measures would mean getting the Pest control people in to fume the whole house, which will cost me but save my pretty, little darling.
Meanwhile, I will keep a watch out for them disguisting bugs and of course keep my 'little princess' away from them.

Disguisting little bugs
It has been a sad day. Today I called the dog groomers and asked them about the ticks I found on my poor little doggie's body and the fact that I missed her dose of revolution for almost 3 weeks. She has been very scratchy and it breaks my heart to see sore bumps when I removed the ticks from her.
I will be sending her for a 'de-tick' session on Mon which happens to be Christmas Eve. On top of that, I have decided not to go out partying and will stay home with her since she might not be feeling so good mentally and perhaps physically after' de-tick-ing'.
It has been almost a month since she was first found with a tick after going to a dog run and she has not been feeding well since. That was the first time and will be the last time I will bring her to a dog run.
I have been observing her just to make sure she does not fall sick (aka lyme disease) due to the ticks, plus I did not go out for walks with her ever since her infestation with these miserable, disguisting, idiotic, blood sucking insects.
I feel so responsible for her plight now, I am like super self-blaming myself for her suffering.

Poor girl
Today I was just reading the Straits Time like I usually do and came across this article about rape victim in Saudi Arabia.
It is so disheartening even to blog about this.
The girl was being kidnapped and was subsequently raped when she was meeting an acquaintance to get some stuff. Guess what happened after that? (Besides the fact that those disgusting rapist got their just desserts and was jailed)
She was jailed and caned 100 times for being with a male stranger. On top of that, when she had leniency for her sentence, it wrote that people thought she does not deserve it and her sentence was too light. To make things worst, she did not get any TLC (tender loving care) from her family without being dead.
In my perspective, it absolutely absurd!! It's more than that, it makes my blood boil just to think of it.
Where did the humanity and education go to?! Down the toilet bowl ?!
Even if sympathy or empathy is not given, one does not have to rejoice over someone's suffering. Many people whom were rape victims never got out of the dark shadow casted in their lives, some even killed themselves because they cannot stop to self-blame for what has happened.
I do not know and understand what are the moral values of people in Saudi, neither am I am racist or female chauvinist or anything but I really think it's high time they consider their treatment and support for rape cases. Even George Bush said that they should give more support for rape victims in the article.
I am so glad that here in SG, our education has thought us well and rape victims get support and are not despised by their loved ones or peers. To ice the cake, Women are protected by the Women's Charter and are treated equally so to speak.

Christmas fungal nail
I know Christmas is about the color red and green, but you don't necessarily have to materialize it this holiday season.
I have just been discussing with supplier about the products to be bringing in for the Christmas and New Year festivities coming up around the weekend. He was commenting on the quick sales of anti-fungal treatments flying off the shelf like there is an epidemic.
So thought of putting in some tips for the girls who like to get their nails done with acrylic or gel extensions. I'm no expert but this is some suggestions I can give with my experience.
Overlays with gel and acrylic are actually not that good for your nails but once in a while, having them is alright and justifiable in cost if you have a chain of few events or functions to attend. I know they look nice and all, I'm tempted to do them too but the thing is if your nails are weak by nature, they will not make it better, it will just be as weak as before, if not even worst when you remove them. If yours are healthy, strong nails, they might weaken your nails. So always take a short break and just get the normal manicure after removing the overlays before doing another set of overlays.
If you are most persistent in getting your overlays, NEVER get your manicure/pedicure and overlays done on the same day after because if you do that you might have a chance on getting fungus in your nails.
Why?
Whenever you get your basic manicure done, you will have very moisturized fingers and nails due to all the soaking and moisturizing with lotions and treatments. With overlays, these moisture gets kept in your nails and promote the growth of fungus. On top of that, the damp, rainy weather lately, it will make the fungus grow faster and even worst.
Fungus growth on your nails are difficult to treat and looks super ugly. Your nails get crumbly and disfigured , grow out in a weird shape and all. Plus, they tend to spread very quickly to the rest of your fingers as well and once you treat them with anti fungal medication and cream, there is a chance that it might recur. Hence, you have to repeat the process of treating again and it costs.
So the solution is if you want your overlays and would not fancy spending money on treating fungal nail, DO NOT get a manicure/pedicure and overlays on the same day. Do one after another in a span of 2 days, like manicure on a day and book appointments for overlay one or two days later.
That's it. Just a small little tip. Hope you benefit from it.

Busy Bee
This week has been a busy, damp week.
The rain has been going on for almost a whole week. Everywhere the floors are wet and dirty, and loads of accident and traffic jams.
I have been busy with the new design of the service menu and the member cards for those who have signed packages with us. (stupid printer messed up our printing). We might be adding on a new service for makeup and hairdo. I will have to further discuss this with the makeup artist. Her skills are like really good since I have tried them myself and she is a such a darling as well. Will keep you guys updated since Christmas is around the corner and I believe for those with company functions and events to attend, you might be requiring these services.

DNA date matching ??!!
Some information that I heard from a colleague which I find it quite interesting.
I won't really put in scientific articles for you to read unless you have insomnia, so the easiest article to digest for your reading pleasure is this.
It's actually quite cool how science and research may perhaps help us with a better family life and later 'designer' babies. What I meant by 'designer' babies is not actually about the choosing better fertilized ovum aka fetuses due to your liking of some physical character, I meant more like have better babies that may be stronger in health and stuff like that.
There is a difference between choosing a 'good' fertilized egg to have a perfect child and choosing a 'good' partner to start a family even though both ways, will end up you having a better child.
The latter is more ethical. Besides, who does not choose your partner to spend the rest of your life with?
There's an exception though for those who are desperate enough and are willing to get married with anyone from the street, I hope you are lucky and live a blessed and happy life because you are infringing on our space and costing us our environment when you divorce.

Crazy weekend
This has been the craziest weekend.
There was like a 'clash of the titans' kinda day. Major traffic jams at the multi-storied carpark behind us (market street carpark) had created such noise pollution with the 'honking' of their horns and customers ending up late for appointments due to the jam in the carpark.
Can you believe it? a traffic jam in the carpark???!!! Better believe it or you can see it soon enough if you attempt to park there.
Sometimes, I really wonder why do some drivers bother to even waste that strength to ' honk' at others in front of them in the carpark. Everyone is waiting, you are not the only. For a really simple fact that even a five year old understands, if you can't wait due to your impatience, then don't drive at all, walk, crawl or do whatever you want to get to your destination. Then you don't have to park and drive others nuts with your idiotic, rhythmic 'honking'.
Other times, you can't really blame the 'honkers', there are inconsiderate people too, there are those who can't bear to move their fat 'asses' by walking a few more steps and drive their 'huge' cars up another floor where there are more parking lots.
You won't die, neither would you lose anything to walk down or up another flight of steps unless that is if you are physically handicapped then it can't be helped and no one in their right minds will even dare to blame you.
Alright, to admit sometimes, I too fall in the category of being super lazy to walk but then again, when I know that there are more lots in the higher levels, I won't even bother to wait, I'll just drive myself up there and park. That way, I'll be faster than those that are 'honking', 'being honked at' or waiting for a lot. In addition, I will park better since I will not be stressed that a whole freaking train of drivers are waiting for me to park. Another solution, for my laziness, just stick out my hand and get a cab then I don't need to park. hahahaha

Big Fish !!
So long did not post. Not in a very pleasant mood...
It has been raining again almost every other day for like ages. It was as if the sky was in major depression. 'Crying' as and when 'it' pleases.
I personally do not really like rainy days. It makes you sleepy and inefficient. It's gray the whole day and make everyone feel blue and look sad too. On top of that, if you do have to get out and run errands, you might get your clothes damp and your shoes soaking wet. This is the feeling I hate most especially if I had just purchased this new outfit. Matching shoes and top kinda thing.
It like you constantly feel that your feet will rot soon after being wrapped up in the shoe, or worst still if you wore sandals or slippers, that your toes might drop off anytime due to the air-conditioning in the office, which is just an epitome of winter due to some idiotic, boiled bloodied individual who is inconsiderate enough to keep the temperature at 20 degrees on a rainy day.
Anyways, my main, short topic is actually about the fact that the fish has grown like so much bigger since the first day we brought it in. It was merely a month plus and I think they have grown like more than half the size they were previously. All my regular clients and of course us realised it. It so satisfying to see that the fishes have grown bigger, I guess it seems that rearing something, like fishes, dogs, cats and etc. really will help in bringing out the maternal side of a person. *argh....*
Somehow when I'm in a bad mood, playing with my darling doggie, or even just changing the water in the tank rearing fishes and turtle, seem to lighten it a bit. No no, I'm not a cleanliness freak, I just have a weird way of removing my moodiness.

Gay ???? Sissy ????
I think a lot of guys out there have a misconception of what a manicure and pedicure is. This is what I gather after hearing some of the guys comment on males having their manicure and pedicure done.
If you bother to find the meaning of the word manicure and pedicure in the online dictionary, it actually means this:
From Marriam webster dictionary online,
Manicure: from Latin manus hand + French -icure (as in pédicure pedicure)
Pedicure: from Latin ped-, pes foot + curare to take care, from cura care
So normally, if a guy said he did his mani and pedi, you will most probably hear this:
"Eeee... He/ You very gay le !!!" or " He's such a sissy!"
As a matter of fact,
GAY = happy
SISSY = timid or coward
Being happy aka GAY is never an issue with anyone is it? On top of that, how can an attempt to keep your hands and feet clean and hygienic be a sign of timidity and cowardice?!
By the way, calling someone GAY and or SISSY is so rude !!!
If I were someone who likes my gender more than the opposite gender, I would very much be preferred if you call me a homosexual (gay = happy as I may be, it's not your business to begin with). To clear things up a little... I am no homosexual. I still prefer men despite the fact that I love myself to death!! hahahaha
Another note, who in the world is not 'sissy' for your fears ?!! Some people are afraid of heights, some insects, some death and so on. I'm sure everyone has fear or weakness due to their past experiences but they may not be sissies, right ?
So so so.... GUYS!!!! It is perfectly alright to have your manicure and pedicure done. It's like such a sweet thing to do together with your girlfriends, wives and gal buddies.
But I guess an advice will be to not have like colored nail lacquer on you fingers or toes. Colored as in reds, pinks, silver, gold, etc. Like the so-called 'girly' colors. I think colors like beige or brown depending on skin tone is alright if you want to have colored nails or even black for a gothic look!
Normally my guy friends just stick with the basic topcoat or nail strengthener or even just 'buff and shine'. Basically, have the nails look clean and well trimmed. (FYI....they love women and are quite M.C.P. Yes, they started to do manicure and pedicure.... due to my influence and they fact that I dared them and force them the first time round... hahahaha)
I guess I prefer guys who like to take care of how they look and give a good first impression. Imagine this:
2 Guy walks up to you and tries to befriend you and asks you on a date.
Guy A:
Hair: Messy, oily. Looks like just woke up kinda look.
Hands and feet: Long nails with black grim in them and super duper dry and chapped
Clothes: Total mismatch for color and style. Like beige (maybe too old), stained singlet with tattered bermudas, not those kind that were deliberately tattered kind, you know what I mean.
Face: Oily and super shiny, uneven stubble
Body: Flabby aka FAT
Guy B:
Hair: Well cut and carefully styled
Hands and feet: Clean, neat, short nails. Smooth shiny skin
Clothes: Well matched and for the occassion. Like nice cleaned T-shirt or shirt with jeans and stuff like that
Face: Clean and well shaven
Body: NOT flabby or fat
So who will you choose?
Verdict:
For me, I will choose GUY B. Yes yes I'm superficial but who is not?! Well, if you chose GUY A then all I can say is good luck to you and I wish you all the happiness you can possibly get.
Some people say you cannot judge a person by their looks but look at their heart and love them for who they are inside.
For goodness sake....!!!!
How do you even get to know a person or his heart even if he repulses you even before you know him ?!!!
Logical isn't it? If a guy does not even bother to look good for himself and love himself, do you even think he will give a damn about you? Humans are selfish, it's only natural instinct that they love themselves more than anyone else. So how can someone know how to love and care for you when they are not even apt to love and care for themselves?!
Maybe many people may rebuke me or say I'm superficial and materialistic but to be truthful, I do not lie to myself, I love myself to death and that's why I know how to love someone and pamper them, just like how I dote on myself.
So lastly to sum up after such a long long post,
Girls, those who like boys, men. Choose a guy who knows how to love themselves but still love you more than themselves.
Guys, do not complain about not having girlfriends. Make the girls swoon at your feet. Do something about how you look. First impression counts. Another personal piece of suggestion: Be well dressed and DO NOT come up with some cheesy, corny pickup lines, just walk straight ahead to the girl and talk to her.
That's all folks!!!

Threatening to explode
For the whole of the week, my lungs have been threatening to explode whenever I cough.
It sounds terrible huh?! It's more of due to my own making. I have been having this cough for like a week plus and I did not bother to see the doctor. Trying to act tough and hope the cough will be self-limiting till my poor poor throat and lungs gave way yesterday.
I went to my favourite GP and came out with a big handful of medication that were twice stronger compared to those they gave when I use to have cough.
Took my medicine and went to the shop to do some stuff. The medication did its job too freaking well. I had stopped coughing and was perpetually drowsy every second and I feel surprisingly hyper due to my stubbornness of not wanting to rest.
Best part is my hand were shivering so badly that it took me almost a whole day to draw a nail art that looks like stained church window when it does not even call for it. You'll get to see it on one of the panels that we put out for nail art designs.
OMG!!! now my eyes are shouting out desperately for me to rest.

Stupid weather
It is raining again for almost the whole freaking day, feels like it's the millionth time this month. It is so distressing and irritating. Even though I'm in the shop with stuff to do, I feel so blue and sleepy.
Some friends that were supposed to come visit us with their family, to try out our services did not make it even though they really love to because of the HUGE-ASS rain. Argh......
Anyways, a decision has been made and I will get the corporate deals for purchase of our gift certificates done by tomorrow. So much for a blue, dull, rainy Sunday.
Don't even know what to write, the rain is drowning my mood.

A sunny, busy saturday
Today was packed with people back to back. For fish spa and nail services. Half of them are walk-ins and the other half appointments. It was a sunny Saturday. Now you all should believe me when I say most people are like me, they like to laze around at home and snooze on a rainy day.
I have two friends , ok ok, friend's friends who came and had a good session of pampering with fish spa and nail services for both their hands and feet. At the end of the day they enjoyed themselves and I was really happy to see the smile on their faces when they left. It seems that we have left a not too bad impression on them. I hope they come back and visit us soon.
There was also this family with the mom, 3 kids and her nanny. The little girl was screaming and shouting all the way that she did not want to do the fish spa. Her will was so apparent in the first 5 minutes, which seemed like half an hour to her. Funnily, she began to enjoy the fish nibbling her feet after the itch disappeared, in any case, it happens to everyone when you got used to it. To my surprise she even did the hand fish spa. I'm glad she overcame her fears with the help of her mom and nanny and started to enjoy what seemed to be scary.
Lastly, there are two groups of people who came in after they saw the BIGASS banner we hung.
The only thing we had not expected was that one of the ladies whom had a surgery done on her knee caps, had a scab at the spot where the incision was done. She showed us the scab and LO and BEHOLD! parts of the scab had actually disappeared after she did the foot fish spa. It was quite obvious to be truthful, not a very big piece but apparent to your eyes unless of course you are super unobservant, in which case no one can help you. I myself had not experienced anything like that as in a part of scab removed by the fishes, mine was generally just flaking skin. She was saying that we should have taken a 'before and after' photo of it. Maybe the next time, she drops by again, I will and most probably give her a good deal for being my 'advertisement model'.
*ahaks*
~
Met up with the distributor and he showed us some samples of the stuff we can retail for the festivities coming up like christmas and all. They are like so so cute and 'giveable'. When I get the stuff, I'll like put up photos in the website gallery so you all can buy. It's not expensive and they come in limited quantities so keep a watch out for these cutsy gifts on our webby.

It is bombastically HUGE!!
Yes, the banner is done and it has been hung up onto the right place we wanted it to be.
It's so big I bet even if you have super long or short-sightedness or even major astigmatism you can see it.
The banner is up. It is so freaking big and it's good. I LIKE IT!!! *evil laughter*
You will definitely notice it when you walk pass, drive pass, go pass it whilst you are in a bus, cab or car. Basically, no matter what, you can see it unless you have chosen not too. Which in any case, WHY DON"T YOU WANT TO !!!???
Even if you do look at it, you will not DIE or LOSE anything valuable by you. So come on, just look at it if you pass by, for you own sake. Another thing for sure, you know I will appreciate it if you do, even if we are strangers. Who knows after looking and reading it, you might decide to drop by and who knows we might become friends? Don't you love the idea of having more friends ?! Well, I do.

Deja Vu
Actually this afternoon I was supposed to be meeting a supplier in the shop but sadly, he did not come at the stipulated time that he has set. I guess he must have been busy and forgot about it. I should call him on monday again and see when he is available to meet up.
Today was a good day despite Xiaomei being on half day leave in the afternoon due to a happy occasion of her cousin's marriage.
This afternoon, accidentally an invitation to try out our services was extended to a comedian as he was walking down the corridor by one of the girls. He kinda looks familiar to me but I can't really recall where I have seen him before. No no, I don't mean on TV since I don't watch a lot of TV shows for a start. Age seemed to be catching up on my brain, terrible short term memory. *shrugs* All well.. it was a good surprise and happy thing for us.
According to sources, he seemed to hit off very well with 'The Giant' nicknamed by Xiaomei, the only guy that is 99.99% in the shop. They apparently talked for hours, just like how we, ahem most women loved to gossip. *Sigh* Men..... don't say we are the only ones that love to talk for hours.
Hehehehe....

Boring...sss.....
There has been nothing much to do recently, administrative stuff I meant.
Well, at least the design for the banner that we were supposed to hang on the outer wall of the walkway directly in front of the shop is underway. The banner definitely will be sent out before saturday arrives so at least we can get the banner next week.
Another piece of information on the fish spa,
Check out this news clipping:
http://justwoman.asiaone.com/Just+Woman/About+Me/Well+Being/Story/A1Story20071113-36131.html
I'm kinda happy that there is an article like that written out despite the fact that we were not on the list. It's more like saving some money for advertising and yet get almost the same outcome we have expected if we went all out on advertising on papers.
So now officially, we are riding on the shoulders of 'Giants' that will help make fish spa more well known and hence our business better. HAHAHAHA!!!
Does that mean we are not going to spend on marketing gimmicks like advertising? No, we still have to, just that it need not be that elaborate hence saving us some money.
*smiles*

So sleepy...
So boring.... It's raining cats and dogs again... These few weeks has been like that... Sheesh ! It really dampens the mood of everyone and makes people sleepy and grouchy too. Why?!
The reason is so obvious. It's raining like super heavy and normally you are wearing something to keep you warm, so you feeling warm and the environment outside or in the office is so cooooollllddddd.... perfect temperture and ambiance to fall asleep. But then again, since you are at work you can't sleep as if the office is your bedroom, so you try to keep awake, which is absolutely nerve-wrecking *tell me about it, I feel the same way too, roll eyes*
There you are..... Sleepy and Grouchy.
I can share 5 ways in which I keep myself awake. Maybe it works for you too...
1. Don't eat anything till your stomach growls super loud and everyone beside you starts to stare at you.
Reason: Normally you will feel sleepy after food. I guess it's sort of like being lazy and in fact a short nap after lunch is refreshing and supposedly good for you, making you more productive and efficient. My short nap is more like 10-15mins ya not 2 whole hours kind of nap or your boss will literally murder you.
2. Find some toothpicks and go to the toilet to poke your eyelids open so they don't close.
Reason: Your eyelids feel kind of heavy when you feel super sleepy. The only 'ouch' way that will keep you awake and your eyes open is cheap and good spiky toothpicks.
Optional: for those who have good eye liner and eye shadow at hand you can draw a pair of eyes on your lids and still doze off but keep those snores in where it belongs. Guys, you can borrow from your favourite female colleague.
3. Buy some super duper sour sweets or sour plums and chew at them vigorously.
Reason: Just telling you about these sour stuff makes my mouth fill up with saliva. Anyway, it supposedly help to awaken your senses since it's super sour. Works best with people who dislike sour foodstuffs. No, it doesn't really cure your 'drunkenness' when you are like super drunk. I tried that with a friend before and worst still, she puked on me.
4. Drink loads of coffee or super strong tea.
Reason: You can feel the 'buzz' of the caffeine inside these two types of drinks and it keeps you wide awake like 'Energizer bunny'. In addition, you keep going to the toilet because caffeine is a diuretic, meaning you keep wanting to go washroom to pee so you will have not much time to fall asleep.
5. Do something like interesting or physical, not like reading some boring article in your nice comfy seat. Maybe run an errand for your boss
Reason: Your brain is constantly at work and does not have time to feel sleepy so you won't feel sleepy. The down side, you will be more tired than usual when you reach home today.

It's Xiaxue and her mom. There was also the filming crew from click.network.tv (pardon me if i got it wrong). The production people that put her videos on the net, I think you know which one I'm talking about.
I think they enjoyed themselves with the fish spa or least that's what I presume it to be. Her mom was a nice lady, we did express pedi for her and she brought us some snacks for tea. Not everyone is appreciative for the services we provide, in which we try to be at our best in pampering our customers and making sure the least strength is used in lifting even your 'pinkie' finger.
All of us her appreciate it a lot ! THANK YOU ! *hugs & flying kisses*
See if you can catch us on the video.. linked to her blog I think... *grins*
All in all, it was a great day !

Newbie
Today our new manicurist just started work. *YEA..jumps up & down*
At last Xiaomei got a partner to share her workload and of course be a good companion as well.
So the whole of this week is her orientation week to help her get used to working with us and most importantly to have good comaderie between all of us.
So Xiaomei will be guiding her on the everyday routine to upkeep the cleanliness and neatness of this place.
Wondering who she is ? hahaha.. come and find out for yourself... I shall not reveal her picture or name... till later...
So much for now...
